| For this Martin Luther King weekend tournament scheduled to run Saturday through Monday, teams that want to play a single game on Saturday, may opt to play one game on Friday instead so that they may attend another event in the area (i.e. Detroit Red Wings or U of M game). If you are interested in this option, you'll need to note this request on your application and send it to us at least 30 days prior to the tournament. If you are playing in the Detroit portion of this event you will be close enough to also attend the U of M game in Ann Arbor If ice availability in Ann Arbor becomes an issue, some divisions may play in the western Detroit suburbs. | ||

This tournament will take place at the
Southgate Civic Arena in Southgate, MI and the Melvindale Civic Arena in Melvindale, MI.
Additional arenas may be added.

| When entering this tournament, please indicate whether you'd like to play in either Ann Arbor (The Big Chill) or Detroit. (The Avalanche) We will honor this request pending availability. Teams will play their round robin game on Friday and Saturday in the city they signed up for. Sunday teams will crossover between Ann Arbor and Detroit for consolation games, semi-finals, and finals. This format, introduced during the 2006-07 season has enabled us to create larger divisions and therefore semi-finals (more games). Divisions for this tournament are typically 8 teams but may be larger. For divisions of more than 4 teams but less than 8 the above format may change. | ||
Please note: As a condition of acceptance to our tournaments, all out-of-town teams must stay at an authorized Big Bear hotel and all rooming list forms should be faxed to the Big Bear tournament office at 248.399.0330. |
