U.S. players
will need either a USA Hockey card, IMR, or copy of their official
USA Hockey roster from the 05 spring. Ontario players will need a copy
of their CHA card or for OMHA players a copy of their Team Roster
and Eligibility Form. Most importantly for Michigan based
teams, these game do not count against your game log.
Whether you've got a group of 5 or your whole team, we've got a
format that will work for you. By the way, in our tournaments,
the goalies play on their own teams with their friends and team
mates.
The 3 on 3
series continues to gain in popularity among players, parents, and
coaches. The 3 on 3 format has proved itself as an incredibly fun
time for everyone. If you have never tried it, we can assure you
that you won't be disappointed. "Better than

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ):
Q. What is 3 on 3 Hockey?
A. 3 on 3 is a skills game, played the width of the ice in one zone
only. The Coach(es) stand in the neutral zone along with the extra
skater. It's as close to organized pond hockey as you can get, and
just as much fun!
Q. Do these games count against my total games
played?
A. The answer we received from USA Hockey & MAHA was no. The
explanation was that 3 on 3 tournaments, although sanctioned by USA
Hockey and MAHA, are not considered official games, but they are
valuable, extra ice time for the kids.
Q. What is the point of 3 on 3 Hockey?
A. The benefit are too numerous to mention, but to list a few: puck
handling, team play, transition - offense to defense and defense to
offense, positioning, and most importantly it is the most fun you
will ever experience playing hockey.
Q. Can I bring my whole team?
A. Yes, but 3 on 3 hockey also works if half of your team is away on
vacation and the rest of your kids want to play. You can split your
team up into as many groups of 4 skaters and 1 goalie as you wish.
You can even bring kids who are not on your current team as long as
the age restrictions are met and the players are registered with USA
Hockey or the CHA.
Q. My team is made up of kids from different skill
levels. Which classification does my team belong in ?
A. Teams must play at the classification of their highest skilled
player (i.e.
2 house, 1 AAA, 2 travel, must play AAA).
Q. What about A & AA brackets ?
A. Travel is generally open due to the fact that this is a no check,
no slap shot event. If a sufficient number of teams apply, we
will split the division into two pools based on strength.
